Increased Recycling of Empty Glass Beverage Containers Grant Program, FY 2026-27
In order to facilitate increased recycling of empty glass beverage containers in the state, the department shall create the Increased Recycling of Empty Glass Beverage Containers Grant Program. The purpose of the grant program shall be to assist in funding regional pilot programs furnishing bins for collection of empty glass beverage containers from restaurants and on-sale retail licensed establishments licensed pursuant to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act. Grants provided under this program may be used for any of the following: 1. Purchase of bins for the collection of empty glass beverage containers at restaurants and other on-sale retail licensed establishments licensed pursuant to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act. 2. Collection and consolidation of contents from the bins. 3. Transportation of the empty glass beverage containers that are collected to a glass processing facility. All projects must include collection of empty glass beverage containers from five or more restaurants and on-sale retail licensed establishments licensed pursuant to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act (Division 9, commencing with Section 2300, of the Business and Professions code) throughout one or more cities or counties in the State of California.

FY 2027/28 CDFW Boating Access Grant Program
Project activities eligible for Boating Access grant funds include: Planning, permitting, and design for Boating Access Facilities. Construction of Boating Access Facilities Administration and Coordination of boating access programs (personnel, travel, training, planning, etc.). Amenities for Boaters, including compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) at Boating Access Facilities: This may include restrooms, wash-down stations, fish cleaning stations for boaters, ramps, courtesy or loading docks, maneuvering areas, parking areas, walkways, beaching areas for boats, picnic tables, garbage facilities for boaters, shade structures, lighting, signage, etc. Launching and landing facilities for paddle craft and non-motorized boats. Outreach to boaters about available boating access and amenities. Aquatic Invasive Species Information and Education – including inspection (not enforcement) as long as the purpose is to keep boaters boating. Vegetation management – As long as the purpose is to keep boaters accessing the water. Pump out facilities for vessels that have on-board sanitary holding tanks. Fueling docks for boaters. Potable water supplies for boaters. Dinghy docks. Operation and Maintenance of boating access facilities.

Mojave Desert Tortoise Recovery
Eligible projects should be focused on: Managing habitat connectivity and linkage protection, including maintenance and installation of Mojave Desert tortoise fencing along roads within and near the Tortoise Conservation Area corridors to concentrate desert tortoise and increase adult survivorship and overall population densities. Installing, or improving culverts, underpasses or overpasses to allow for Mojave Desert tortoise movement. Cumulative-impact monitoring and data infrastructure, such as a centralized geospatial tracking system for surface disturbance, remediation effectiveness, and translocation outcomes across the species' range. Supporting on-the-ground efforts to improve habitat conditions for Mojave Desert tortoises in landscapes affected by adjacent development including, but not limited to, addressing surface hydrology disruptions, predator monitoring and control, habitat restoration and enhancement actions (including seeding with desert tortoise forage species), and nonnative removal and control to benefit population recovery. Activities to support population augmentation of depleted Mojave Desert tortoise populations including establishment of facilities, head-starting and reintroduction, genetic testing, translocation logistics, health screening, post release monitoring.

Division of Boating and Waterways Local Assistance Boat Launching Facility Grant Program FY27
In accordance with Section 72.5 of the Harbors and Navigation Code, Boat Launching Facility (BLF) grants are provided to local government agencies for the construction or improvement of boat launching ramps, restrooms, boarding floats, shore protection, parking for vehicles and boat trailers, and ancillary items. Also included in the grant are monies to pay for engineering, construction inspection, permits from regulatory agencies, special studies, construction contingency, and other project related costs. The primary purpose of the grant is to provide and improve access to California’s waterways by the recreational boating public using trailerable watercraft.

The Statewide Ramp Repair and Modification Grant Program provides grant funding to public agencies to quickly restore safe and convenient public boating access by correcting public health and safety issues caused by unexpected damage due to flood, accidents, wildfires or by extending existing boat ramps as needed due to drought conditions at DBW-funded boat launching facilities. Eligible Applicants: Local public agencies, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations qualified to do business in California, Public Utilities, Federally and non-federally recognized Native American tribes on the Native American Heritage Commission’s list, and Mutual water companies. Eligible Uses: Eligible projects include recycled water treatment; recycled water storage, distribution, and pumping; groundwater recharge; indirect potable reuse; surface water augmentation; and large scale recycled water projects.
